It started with a simple idea during a company brainstorming session: everyone needs a little comfort, and sometimes, that comfort comes in the form of a giant huggable friend. “We’re a family-run business,” explains Sarah Miller, BECK ROOFING’s Head of Product Development (and self-proclaimed plush toy enthusiast). “And we believe in building things that last, things that bring joy. We protect your biggest investment – your home – and now, we want to offer something that protects your heart… or at least gives it a good squeeze!” So, what exactly are these giant plush toys? These aren’t your average teddy bears. We’re talking seriously large, unbelievably soft, and designed for maximum cuddliness. Currently, we're launching with three core designs, each with a unique personality: Barnaby the Bear: The classic companion. Barnaby is a huge, honey-colored bear, made with ridiculously soft, long-pile fleece. He's perfect for snuggling, leaning on, or just having a big, fluffy friend to hang out with. She’s about 4 feet tall and is guaranteed to bring a touch of sweetness to any space. Why did a roofing company start making plush toys? It's a fair question! “We wanted to diversify a little bit,” Sarah explains. “Roofing is seasonal, and we have a fantastic team with a lot of creativity. We also wanted to build something positive – something that brings people joy, especially during tough times. Plus, we've always focused on quality craftsmanship, and we’ve applied that same dedication to these toys. We wanted to create something that would last and become a cherished friend.” The manufacturing process is surprisingly similar to some aspects of roofing, Sarah says. “It’s all about attention to detail, strong materials, and making sure everything is built to last. We’re using high-quality, hypoallergenic fabrics and reinforced stitching to ensure these toys can withstand plenty of love and cuddling.” The toys are all designed and assembled right here in the USA.
